EUCUA was founded in 1862, and is an association of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party. We are affiliated to, and have very close links with, Conservative Future Scotland. Our many distinguished alumni include high profile political figures such as the former Foreign Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind MP; David McLetchie MSP; Eleanor Laing MP; Charles Hendry MP; The Marquess of Lothian, and Lord James Douglas-Hamilton.

We exist to further the cause of the United Kingdom, as well as to promote conservative political philosophy on campus and in the surrounding area. We offer members a chance to engage in heated political debate and intellectual inquiry, as well as enabling them to meet like-minded people and network. EUCUA boasts a full and varied social calendar throughout the academic year, ranging from informal weekly drinks to black-tie dinners, from tours around the Scottish Parliament and City Chambers, to our regular Port and Policy events.

We have an exciting range of events planned for the 2014-2015 academic year, including a Freshers’ Week reception, trips to Holyrood to see First Minister’s Questions, our Anniversary Dinner, and our Burns Supper, to name just a few. With the Independence Referendum looming, the next year will be a particularly important one for the Association, and EUCUA will be campaigning hard to ensure Scotland remains a part of the United Kingdom. If you want to be a part of our prestigious, vibrant, and friendly Association, please join using the blue box to the right. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
